Rodriguez-Casanova, de Villasante NEW on WetHeat.TV

The afternoon we visited Leyden Rodriguez-Casanova’s studio he was taking down an installation he’d been testing for several months and patching the hole that remained. The artist’s themes challenge comfort levels separating art and artisanship, and disconcert the perception of everyday objects. See the new Studio Drive-By episode here.

You can see an opening of his work this Saturday in the main gallery at David Castillo, “You might sleep, but you will never dream,” discussed by the artist here.

Starting with an impromptu photograph of a woman’s momentary expression, Carlos de Villasante was following an improvisational path in fusing graphics, painting and sculpture to create a new “carhood” piece. See the new Studio Drive-By episode here.

You can see an opening of his show “Shortform” this Saturday in the Project Room at Diana Lowenstein.
