Last night at Locust Projects, Executive Director Claire Breukel hosted and moderated a talk and screening where we premiered a selection of clips and previews.
Many of the artists featured in our Studio Drive-By series were there, including Loriel Beltran, Carlos Betancourt, Trisha Brookbank, Brian Burkhardt, Leyden Rodriguez-Casanova, and the subject of our preview screening, Frances Trombly (her episode will be among the first to be seen when wetheat.tv launches– scheduled for next week!).
Also at the event was Bert Rodriguez, featured in our miamiHeights series. From that episode we showed clips including comments on Bert’s work by Steven Henry Madoff, plus some compelling memories and sage advice from Vito Acconci. Bert took several probing questions afterward including those from Susan Lee-Chun, one of the performance/conceptual artists featured in our wetheat.tv “That Happened” series (as are Federico Nessi and Agustina Woodgate, also in the audience last night).
Many thanks to Locust, its supporters and sponsors, and all who came by to see what we’re up to.
